Raygrance by Ray Meagher for GoDaddy

Raygrance by GoDaddy was one of the latter emails. The agency looking after the project was looking for someone to take on the project and turn it around in a pretty short time. This is not unusual, agencies typically want to move very quickly after the client has approved the idea and I only had a couple of months to bring their ideas to life. It was a little bit different from the high-end projects I normally work on, but I love it when any business wants to use fragrance for a campaign.

RepreScent Fragrance Lab at Castle Towers

Castle Towers is a shopping centre in the gorgeous hills area of North West Sydney. It is a lovely centre comprising of over 300 specialty shops and they invited me to create bespoke fragrance for their VIP guests for two weeks as a part of their Age of Style celebrations last year. Their idea was to take their shoppers on a sensory journey and help them discover their fragrance style.

Kerastase 50th Anniversary

Kerastase Paris is one of the world’s leading hair care brands, and last year they celebrated their 50th Anniversary. They hosted a conference and gala ball in Melbourne and invited their brand ambassadors from around Australia. They were kind enough to invite me to present a perfume master class and create a fragrance to give as a gift to their guests. I was to present after Ita Buttrose and Megan Quinn, so I was in excellent company!

LYNX launched their latest fragrance to a group of local influencers and magazine editors in Sydney earlier this year. I was invited to educate their guests about the new fragrance, Black. Like many of the LYNX fragrances, Black was created by Ann Gottlieb, a very successful perfumer who has worked with Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs and Elizabeth Arden on some of their best selling fragrances.

Pacific Fair Shopping Centre on the Gold Coast hosted a beautiful breakfast on the river to showcase the new autumn winter fashions in March 2015. Notable fashion bloggers including Sara Donaldson from Harper and Harley were invited to view the latest winter fashions while sitting in the sun sipping champagne. Not a bad way to spend a morning.

Guests were treated to a three course lunch with Champagne whilst learning about perfume and it’s history. Guests were then guided through the perfumer creation process, this part is the most popular as it has everyone chatting about what perfumes they like ..

Perfume and Champagne MasterClasses

‘Time to musk up’- Brian Fantana. I was tasked with creating a fragrance inspired by the famous Sex Panther from Anchorman for a Ron Burgundy themed pop up bar. I called it Love Leopard, and though I couldn’t quite bring myself to create something so revolting as Sex Panther, it was still pretty heavy on the anamalic musky notes. I used civit, musk, leather, woods and indole to create a somewhat unique fragrance that would be very at home in Brian’s Cologne Cabinet. I actually had a couple of people contact me and tell me the loved the fragrance!

I have collaborated with the talented team at 3 Deep Design on a couple of occasions. This time they commissioned me to design a fragrance and source a bottle for their client BPM. BPM has been developing and building iconic, design driven multi residential projects for over 20 years and they wanted a fragrance to reflect the ethos of their company. Working with the perfumer, we created a fragrance that tells a unique story using some of the worlds finest raw materials. House in a distinct black bottle, Black Mist certainly leaves a lasting impression.

Victorine is a wonderful shoe store in South Melbourne run by Sarina and Kirsty, two very creative and talented women who wanted to do something a little different. The name is inspired by Victorine Meurent, the painter and famous model for painters, most notably Manet.  Sarina and Kirsty asked me to create a fragrance for them to offer their customers and scent the store. The result was a unisex fig and black pepper fragrance from Grasse that is dispensed from a laboritory glass bottle with a tap and decanted into a bottle for each customer as they purchase.

To celebrate the 50th of birthday of HASSELL Studio, a fragrance was commissioned to reflect the gold theme of the party in their stylish Melbourne offices. The Powder Room created a bespoke scent that was diffused into the space using candles and room sprays. The scent was an engergising, sparkling citrus inspired by the warm gold accents in the space and the diamond centre piece suspended above the DJ.

The Powder Room was commissioned by 3 Deep to create a fragrance for their client Toni Maticevski.  VIPs, brand ambassadors and celebrities were sent an invite to Toni’s MBFW runway show, which included a petite bottle of perfume inspired by Toni’s love of classic 1950’s perfume.
